With over 2000 positive reviews already. I'm just going to keep this short and simple. This was my first time at Santouka and it probably won't be my last.
I ordered the Combo B (L) Spicy Miso Ramen and Sake and Ikura Bowl. ?First of very solid bowl of ramen. The broth was fantastic, rich and tasty and the noodles were perfectly done chewy and al dente. The sake and Ikura bowl wasn't bad at all too. I fairly enjoyed it. ?
Overall what a great ramen in Mitsuwa food court. You'll definitely leave this place happy and full.
All good things have to come to an end and it's sad for me to update my review. I have been coming to Khao Soi since 2016. The food than was authentic you're going to get on Ventura Blvd. But this last time it will our last. The restaurant had changed ownership and all new cook's and way over price now.

KHAO SOI: This use to be fantastic authentic. Now it was horrible. The dish was water down and taste less. My daughter didn't like it and so did i. Plus they didn't give us the pickled mustard, red onions and lime. ( Didn't bother to take a picture of it)
DRUNKEN NOODLE: Wasn't that good. ?
GRA POW MOO KROB: This was my favorite dish to get here with a fried egg. But this time it was so SWEET and bad. ?The kicker was that dish was $9.95 they change $4 more for the Crispy Pork and another $3 for a fried egg. Who the hell charges $3 for one fried egg where I can buy a dozen for $3. Charging $17 for this poor quality dish it's a no no..
Sorry Khao Soi but you just lost a loyal customer.

If you love tempura bowl you definitely can't go wrong with Hannosuke. Hannosuke is located in Mitsuwa market food court. It's almost always our lunch spot to eat before doing our grocery shopping. Their Tempura Tendon are fantastic and delicious and the prices are very reasonable.
My usual orders are:
#1 Original Tendon ( White Fish, 2 Shrimps, Soft Broiled Egg, Seaweed, Pumpkin,Broccoli, Pepper)
#3 Edomae Tendon ( Anago Eel ,2 Shrimps, Kakiage Tempura, Soft Broiled Egg )
#5 Shrimp Tendon ( 4 Shrimp, Soft Broiled Egg and Tempura Veggies)
All these bowls are fantastic. I wish the tempura could be a little more crisper, but hey I'm not complaining. It's a fast food place in the market food court.
Absolutely the best Unagi in LA. You're not going to find the quality of this Unagi anywhere else besides here or in Tokyo and yes this place is pricey. But hey you're getting top quality unagi from Japan. You can definitely taste the difference. At Toku Unagi their unagi are so tender and moist it also had a good amount of fatness to it and broiled to perfection.
KABAYAKI EEL OMELET ($38) I have to say it was fantastic. ?The omelet was light and fluffy. The eel was perfectly done. But overall for $38. I would say skip it. For me I just had to try it.
HITSUMABUSHI " EXTRA SPECIAL " TEA on RICE/BROILED EEL in OHITSU ($98) Amazing. You have sandwich layer of Unagi here. So it rice unagi rice again and topped with more unagi served with condiments of pickled veggies, scallions, fresh wasabi, miso soup and tea ( which is dashi).
This is a 3 course set in 1
So for you first bowl you'll eat just eat the eel and rice.
For your second bowl you'll add your condiments( scallions, pickled veggies and wasabi)
And for the third bowl you'll add your condiments and add the tea ( dashi) . All three way are fantastic and very enjoyable but I really liked the third version with the tea (dashi) it really brings everything together with a lot of umami flavor.
SUNTORY draft beer ($11). Good smooth and creamy malt beer.
SERVICE: Top notch and very professional.
Overall enjoyed everything but the price. Nevertheless I'll probably be back again.
I'm just going to go straight to the point on this one. I'm always been a fan to Ballast Point beers especially their IPA's , Hazy IPA's and their Barrel aged stuff. So it a solid 4 stars.
But as for their food goes 2 stars on that. I'm not sure just because they're located in downtown Disney or what. But, ?damn the food is overly over price for what you get and quality.
BP Wings ($15) Hardly season and soggy.
Bavarian Pretzel ($10) Not bad.
Nacho Al Pastor ($17) Definitely not your regular pastor. More like pulled pork.
Ballast Point Burger ($17) Definitely not worth it.
Soyrizo Roasted Cauliflower Tacos ($14) Flavorless
Daily Special Grilled Octopus Tacos ($18) Totally disappointing. All their tacos are tinier than the street tacos.
SERVICE: Excellent and friendly.
So my advice it you're coming here for the food. Don't! But for beer. Yes I do recommend that. So I'm still giving them a 4 stars rating only for the beer and service that we received.
So glad they opened KazuNori near work. Their hand rolls are great and simple.
I usually order the 6 HH and an extra order of the Toro or the Lobster HH. ?All the fishes are fresh and the rice is well season. Their Nori (seaweed) is fantastic and crispy. But I wish they didn't use hot rice. It takes away that crispness of the nori. I prefer ?rice at room temperature so each bite will have that crunch. That's my only down side.
Overall still a great place to come for lunch and get that hand roll fix and be in and out in 30 minutes.
SERVICE: Excellent and fast and efficient.
If you love fresh seafood. I highly recommend stopping by Coni's. Everytime we visit Coni's we always leave this place with a happy tummy. I have been to both of their restaurants but I prefer this location due to being less crowded.
Micheladas is the way to go here.
Ceviche Marinero ( Shrimp with Lemon/Black Sauce) Excellent.
Cevisushi ( Shrimp, Fish and Octopus in Habanero Sauce) Fantastic. One of my favorite dishes.
Chicharrones De Pescado: These fresh deep fried tilapia was delicious. Perfectly fried.
Tacos De Marlin: These smoked marlin were great. It ?has a good amount of smoke to it.
Camarones Cucarachita:( Whole fried Shrimp in Spicy Butter Sauce) Excellent, they were perfectly fried where you can eat the whole shrimp. The spicy butter sauce had a nice kick to it. ?They're so damn addicting. This is definitely your beer food.
Camarones A La Pimienta: ( Shrimp in Butter Pepper Sauce) Delicious dish. Love the butter pepper sauce.
Pescado Zarandeado ( Grilled Whole Snook) Delicious. The snook was super fresh and grilled to perfection. The meat was so moist and flaky. For this dish please allow 30 minutes to prepare. It's damn worth it.
Overall I'm fan of Coni's and will continue coming here when I'm craving for some delicious seafood.
ILLENIUM at The Red Rocks!! Wow. I can officially check this of my bucket list. What a beautiful venue surrounded by all natural beauty. This venue is hands down the best place to see concert. The sounds and everything about this place is fantastic. No matter where you sit and stand the view is phenomenal. ?
My only down side is that we took an Lyft there without any problem. The cost was about $16 from downtown Denver. ?But leaving Red Rocks is a different story. The wait time for Lyft and Uber can be up to an hour or more. With that being said there is a taxi service. NOTE* These taxi service are of the clock, so the charge you whatever they want. We had one that try to charge us $75. But eventually we found one at $50. ( Cash only)
Other than that we can't wait to come back here for another show. Love this place.
I wanted to try Uchi when I was in Austin but unfortunately that didn't happen. So before out trip to Denver I made reservations a week before. I have to say I wasn't really impressed by the food. Don't get me wrong the food was great and sushi was fresh, but you can get the same and even better quality of sushi for half the price.
We ordered the following:
Uchi Salad: One of our favorite dish. Simple refreshing salad with plenty of flavor. Love how you use your hand as your utensils for this dish.
Tempura Hana: Not bad. ?
Kinkok Nabe w/ Gyutoro: Excellent. This was our favorite dish of the night. ?This dish had plenty of mushrooms and gyutoro. Just make sure to get it some time before digging in so the rice at the bottom becomes crispy from the hot stone pot.
Wagyu Maki: Excellent. Very tender wagyu and tasty.
Berkshire Pork Belly Nigiri: Skip this. Definitely not worth getting. This was recommended by our server. ?The pork belly was very chewy and lacking in flavor.
Foie Gras Nigiri: Fantastic. How we miss this in California.
Negitoro Maki: Not bad
Kinmedai, Blue Fin Otoro, Aji: It was fresh but the cuts were all small and the most importantly the rice. Under seasoned and mushy. Just 3 different kind of nigiri was $39. We had 2 Kinmedai and 1 Aji and 1 Otoro.
SERVICE: This was excellent and friendly. ?
Overall Uchi was good we enjoyed most of the dishes we ordered but Sushi wise you can definitely pass on that and try different dishes on the menu.
What a fun place to come and drink. We came here right after our fantastic meal at Uchi. They have 40 ?great beers on tap and the prices are very reasonable. I sampled about 14 different types and my bill came out to by $15. It's start's about .60/- $1.50 for 1oz pour. They have all different types of beer from Light, Hoppy, Dark, Nitro, Wine, Ciders, and even Kombucha.
And it's simple to get started. Just go to the counter show you ID and a credit card and they'll give you a tap card as simple as that.
Overall a fantastic fun place with good vibes.
